Annual Legendary Chowdah Cook-off

On Friday, August 11th, seven of our parish chefs treated the community to a variety of delicious chowders. The votes are in and the winner for the third and a half time (she tied one year) is Pam Sirois whose entry was #2, the White Chowder, a creamy, herb-laced chowder filled with freshly harvested clams. Congratulations to Pam for presenting us with another outstanding and wonderful chowder.

every third Saturday of each month (May-October)

Our monthly "Pancakes with a Purpose" breakfasts feature luscious  pancakes, home-made from scratch using our own recipe, served up with all the trimmings including choices of blueberry, strawberry, chocolate chip and plain, with sausage, juice, coffee and tea.
To date over $28,000 from proceeds was donated to "Family Housing," a local organization that secures emergency housing for families, especially with children, who otherwise would be homeless.
Three local South County parishes serve these delicious breakfasts every month: Cross' Mills Baptist Church, Charlestown, has the first Saturday of every month; Dunn's Corners Presbyterian Church, Westerly, the second; and Church of the Holy Spirit, Charlestown, the third. The event is free and donations ($5.00 is suggested but pay what you can) to the cause are gladly accepted.
